Penny (Booher) Violette |
 |
Penny was
a gymnast and cheerleader where working hard helped her win awards
of State High School All - Around Champion and the United States
Gymnastics Federation (USGF) state and Regional Titles. She then
traveled on to compete five times at National USGF meets placing
in the finals on the Balance Beam. She also was a cheerleader winning
Miss NCA All - America two times. She attended the University of
Kentucky on a full gymnastics scholarship. Penny is now co - owner
of STARS with her sister Shelly. Penny holds a USAG Safety Certification
and has completed Community CPR. All of this adds up to 35 years
of gymnastics experience. She is married to Mike Violette and has
two children, Kyle 18, and Whitney, 16. She lives in Waynesville.

Shelly (Booher) Black |
 |
Shelly has
over 25 years of experience and enjoys putting it all to use teaching
and coaching at STARS. Shelly’s Gymnastics experience includes State
Champion in the United States Gymnastics Federation (USGF) level
8 (Class II) competition as well as competitor in both level 8 and
9 State meets. She was a cheerleader at Wright State University
(WSU) for 3 years where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree
in Elementary Education. Shelly holds a USAG Safety Certification,
USASF cheerleading credential through Level 5, Kinder Accredited
through USA Gymnastics, as well as Community CPR, and First Aid
certified. She is married to Mike Black and has two sons Ty and
Troy. |

Amy Hester |
 |
Amy has sixteen
years of gymnastics experience. She trained and competed for Cincinnati
Gymnastics Academy, 1997 to 2001. As a Level 10, was two time State
and Regional qualifier placing 2nd on Vault and All-Around; at Level
9 Eastern National Championships placing 3rd All-Around and two
time Level 8, 9 and 10 state and regional and vault champion. A
National qualifier to TOPS (Talent Opportunity Program) as an 11
year old. Other competitions include USAIGC Nationals, 1995 and
1996. Amy also has eight years of competitive dance training.
Amy attends Wright State University.

Becky Wagner |

Becky participated
on a competitive dance team for 8 years. She graduated from Sinclair
Community College with a degree in Community Based Corrections.
Becky is the Preschool Director and Asst. Cheer Director here at
STARS. She is USASF credentialed through Level 5, USGA safey certified,
and has received Cheer Power’s Safety Certification.
She absolutely loves children and will be a smiling face to all.
This is Becky's 8th year at STARS.

Lora Quick |

Lora Quick
is the Cheer Director for Stars. This is her 5th year at Stars.
Lora’s cheerleading competition experience includes winning a collegiate
partner stunt national championship. Her 18 years of coaching experience
includes 5 years as a camp instructor and director for COA, coaching
and choreography at all levels including, youth, jr. high, high
school, all star, and college. Lora has coached teams to 5 National
Championships. She has judged at the local, regional, and national
levels. Lora is safety certified through American Cheer Power and
is USASF Credentialed through level 5. When not at Stars, Lora spends
her time with her four children.

Tonya Strahler |

Tonya attended
Kettering City School District where she actively participated in
cheerleading and gymnastics.
She began coaching cheerleading while attending Wright State University
and continued with her cheerleading involvement for the Dayton Cowboys
Semi-pro football team.Tonya holds a USAG Safety Certification,is
USASF cheerleading credentialed through Level 5, and is safety certified
through American Cheer Power.
Tonya coaches preschool, recreational classes and cheer team where
she helped coach the cheer teams to a national title in 2006.
Tonya and her husband, Ryan enjoy watching their youngest daughter,
Kassandra try to follow in her older sister, Kyrstyn's footsteps
as a cheerleader and gymnast for STARS.

Chris Larson |

Chris attended
Ball State University where she pursued a B.S. in Elementary Education.
She moved to Dayton in 1987 where she taught preschool for 12 years,
the last 6 of those years were as director.
Chris has been a preschool gymnastics coach for 7 years. She also
coaches Boys’ Team and Future Stars.
She is USAG safety certified, CPR certified, and holds a first aid
certification. Chris is also the proud mother of four children and
devotes her time to them whole heartedly.

Jodi Dysinger |
 |
Jodi participated
in gymnastics while attending high school. She graduated from Fairborn
High School where she took part in Cheerleading, Varsity Club, and
4H. Currently Jodi is attending her 4th year at Wright State University
where she is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Early Child Education.
Upon graduation Jodi plans to teach locally while returning to school
to receive her Master’s degree. Her hobbies include spending time
with her friends and family. This is Jodi’s third year at Stars.
She truly enjoys her position as a coach and working with children.
You will see Jodi coaching both Preschool & Cheerleading.

Amanda Long |
|
Amanda started
gymnastics training at age 5. When she retired from gymnastics,
she was a level 9 gymnast. She was also a competitive dancer competing
nationally in ballet, jazz, lyrical, and tap. She danced with the
Dayton ballet in the Nutcracker. During her high school years she
cheered for Carroll High School. She was named to the First team
All Mid Miami League Cheerleading Squad for the North Division in
2002. This is Amanda's third year coaching at Stars.

Whitney Violette |

Whitney started
gymnastics training at the age of 3. She competed for STARS up to
level 8. She attends Waynesville High School and is a varsity football
cheerleader as well as a member of the track team. She participate
in the SADD program “students against destructive decisions” and
is a peer group leader. Whitney will be found coaching preschool,
recreational, level 4’s and clinics. She loves STARS and is looking
forward to a wonderful year. |

Tiffany Oakley |
 |
Tiffany started
gymnastics at the age of 4. She competed through Level 7 for Stars
Gymnatics. She is a graduated of Dayton Christian High School. While
attending Dayton Christian she took part in cheerleading, volleyball,
and softball. You will find Tiffany coacheing recreational classes
as well as Level 4 team. Tiffany is excited to be a part of Stars
Gymnastics. |
| Miranda
Lytle |
|
This will
be Miranda’s second year coaching at Stars. She was a gymnast for
12 years. She competed at Level 9 Eastern Nationals in 2002 and
2004. At the Eastern Nationals in 2004 she placed 3rd on floor and
4th on vault. In 2005, she placed 5th on vault at Level 10 Regionals.
In 2005-2006 she was the co-captain of the Beavercreek High School
gymnastics team. She placed 1st on vault in the High School Gymnastics
State competition. She completed her gymnastics career as a level
10 gymnast.
She will be attending Sinclair Community College in the fall of
2006 as an art major. She will be pursuing an Associates Degree
in Interior Design. Then, she will attend Wright State University
to obtain a Bachelors Degree in art.

Vivian Booher |

Vivian Booher
is a key member of the STARS staff and is the Primary Decorating
Coordinator. Throughout our renovation and club changes, Vivian
was hard at work making it all happen. At all of our major activities,
and most of the minor, you’ll find Vivian behind the scenes making
sure everything is coordinated, right down to Garnet’s dinner. Although
these tasks are important, the moral support that Penny and Shelly
receive from mom is by far the most valuable service she can offer. |

Garnet Edwards |

Garnet was
the life of STARS. Meeting everyone with a smile and a cheerful
hello. Her legacy at STARS was Penny and Shelly’s Grandma. She oopened
the doors with us in 1993 and worked until 2006.
She may gone but will never be forgotten.

Carol O'Cull |

Most of you
have never seen Carol but we’re sure you appreciate her presence.
Carol is the one that makes sure the gym is always clean, the carpets
vacuumed, and the windows clear. Carol is Penny and Shelly’s aunt.
Even though not seen, Carol is a big part of STARS, say hi if you
see her. |
